5 simple steps to reset and reconnect with your truth

  1. Pause

First and foremost, you need to unplug – figuratively and literally. This might be frustrating to read as you probably feel like you need to change things quickly, but this is key.

Turn off the “I don’t know what to do with my life” thoughts, the end of the world scenarios, as well as your social media.

If you want to find your way back, you absolutely need to take a moment to ground yourself. Do something you love, get a massage, practice yoga, enjoy a cup of coffee at your favourite place. This first step might take a day or two, or a week – listen to your intuition. The idea is to disconnect from the noise around you and inside your head.

2. Worry Journal

Once you’ve taken the time to slow down, chances are you’ll have a better perspective on your situation. This will make things a little bit clearer, or at least a bit less dramatic. This next step is all about writing down all your worries: without censoring yourself, take a moment to put on paper what you’ve been feeling lately. Sometimes when we feel lost, we’re under the impression that we’re lost in all areas of our lives when we’re most likely not – this exercise will help you see a bit more clearly what truly creates resistance. It also puts all your worries in a physical place and makes it easier to literally close the page on it for the day.

3. Ask the right questions

  • What’s important for me?

  • What motivates me? What brings me joy? What pisses me off?

  • Am I being true to my core values?

  • What does my perfect day looks like?

  • What does my ideal lifestyle looks like?

  • Who makes my life better?

  • What change do you want to see in the world?

  • Where will I be in 5, 10, 20 years if I continue doing what I’m doing?

  • If this way my last day on earth, what would I be doing?

  • What do I need to let go of in order to live my best life?

4. Reconnect

Take a moment to let these questions, and most importantly answers, sink in. They might be simple, but they will certainly shake things up. A few exercises might help you better reconnect with your true self and eventually put you back on the right track:

  • Based on your answers and learning, imagine a 100 years old version of yourself: what advice would they give you?

  • Draw/list a current version of yourself and an ideal version of yourself: what would this new version do in order to achieve their dream? What beliefs do they have?

5. Take action

Now that your inner compass is rewired, it is the time to plan your way to your most authentic life. Reflect on what came up, figure out the below and put together a plan:

  • My 3 core values are:

  • My life purpose is:

  • I need to let go of _______ in order to live my most authentic life.

  • I need to start doing _______ in order to live my most authentic life.

  • My first step to this authentic life is:
