Farewell Change Your Latitude, Welcome Dear Creative Mind
The Dear Creative Mind Podcast by Pascale Cote. Coaching for artists and creative entrepreneurs, meditations for sensitive souls and interviews with inspiring artists.
I changed my own latitude this past year. Today, I'm saying goodbye to Change Your Latitude and welcoming Dear Creative Mind. I'm so grateful to have you part of this new chapter, vision and journey. In this episode, I share the behind-the-scenes of this transformation and let you know what you can expect from this space next, both through the podcast and the coaching offerings.
Dear Creative Mind, welcome. This podcast is a space I created for us to explore the depths, textures, colours and intricacies of our creative mind. My name is Pascale and I’ll be your guide, helping you navigate your rebellious path. I know our creative mind sometimes gets lost in the maze of our imagination or sidetracked by the stories of our inner critic… leaving us feeling stuck in an exhausting cycle of hustle, burnout and stagnation… and preventing us from sharing our message and creating change. That’s why you’ll find grounding meditations to soothe your mind, coaching notes to help you find more focus and flow, and conversations with other artists to inspire you… in the hopes of helping you better understand and take care of your whole creative self.

How to Overcome Creative Blocks: Indecisiveness & Fear of Commitment
How to step away from creative blocks as an artist or creative entrepreneur. How to stop being indecisive and make aligned decisions. How to break free from the fear of commitment and trust ourselves as creative minds. Coaching for artists and creative minds.
In this episode, I share about another “creative-knot power couple”. These are some of the traps that we often succumb to as creative souls, but in understanding them, we become more equipped to navigate them. Today we’ll talk about indecisiveness and our fear of commitment.
It can be very easy to get sidetracked and influenced by too many external sources, especially when trying to “find the right way”. This is often due to our lack of confidence towards our general ability to make decisions. Rather than finding the right decision, it’s more important to find the right decision for us and the right decision, right now.
Making decisions and committing can also feel very restrictive and overwhelming, but that’s only if what we’re committing to isn’t something that stems from our own desires.
Let’s declutter all the shoulds and talk about how indecisiveness and fear of commitment can steer us off course.
Journal prompts:
Do you tend to go back and forth on a decision, to the point of feeling dizzy?
Do you find yourself turning to outside sources for decision-making?
In looking at how you invest your time and energy what can you honestly say are you committed to? What are these commitments?

How to Overcome Creative Blocks: Fear of Success and Growth
How to overcome the fear of success and growth as an artist or creative entrepreneur. The Dear Creative Mind Podcast with host Pascale Cote, mindset coach for artists and creative minds.
In this episode, we creative a less obvious creative knot: the fear of success. Not far removed from the fear of failure, they both operate similarly in that they develop strategies to shelter ourselves from the unknown. They also have the same result: they keep us stuck. It’s easy to picture success in a way that can scare us in that it can change us, especially from a creative point of view. But it doesn’t have to. We just have to ask ourselves some questions to see what is the real fear underneath.
Journal prompts:
Can you observe self-sabotaging yourself the closer you get to a goal?
What would happen if you do reach that goal?
What is your definition of a successful entrepreneur? Creative?

How to Overcome Creative Blocks: Imposter Syndrome + Self-Doubt
How to overcome imposter syndrome and clear out self-doubt as an artist or creative entrepreneur. The Dear Creative Mind Podcast with host Pascale Cote, mindset coach for artists and creative minds.
In this episode, we explore another creative knot: the imposter syndrome. This can take on many forms: feeling like you’re never ready or good enough or that you’re a fraud, that you don’t belong with your peers, that you’re undeserving and that one day, you’ll be “found out”. How can we overcome it? Being creative goes hand in hand with vulnerability. Being creative means discovering something new and that obviously means going through a learning phase. We’ll discuss how the imposter syndrome can affect our creative-self.
Journal prompts:
What are some shoulds that you are carrying around?
Can you dig and detect a place that “forces” you to overcompensate?
Is there someone or something that triggers you in that, it makes you jealous?

Essentialism in Business: Do Less and Be more.
How to practice essentialism in business. The Dear Creative Mind Podcast with host Pascale Cote, mindset coach for artists and creative minds.
In this era where productivity is King, is it crazy to think that doing less can actually lead to increased productivity? Beyond that, can it also lead to feeling more fulfilled? What if we approached our business with more essentialism? What if we cut through all the noise and started “decluttering” our own business. In this episode, I give you my take on what it means to bring this essentialist approach in business so you can focus on what matters (aka focus on what truly works, and drop what doesn't so you can free up more time).

How comfortable are you when doing “nothing”, or doing something for the sake of doing it

How to Overcome Creative Blocks: Fear of Rejection and Fear of judgment
How to overcome the fear of rejection and the fear of judgment as an artist or creative entrepreneur. The Dear Creative Mind Podcast with host Pascale Cote, mindset coach for artists and creative minds.
In this episode, we’re exploring how to untangle ourselves from a creative knot that gets in the way of our creative life and business: our fear of rejection. It’s a tricky one because of how deeply rooted it is in our DNA. Unfortunately, our instinct and desire for acceptance can unbalance and limit our ability to live authentically. This is especially troublesome if you’re different and unconventional which is often the case for us, creative souls. Let’s talk about how this fear ends up being a form of self-rejection that more times than not, can create a diluted, muted version of who we secretly long to be, and prevents us from being visible to the people we’re here to serve.
Journal prompts:
Do you censor yourself for fear of not being well accepted?
Do you find yourself in territories that you know will be well received by others but don’t light you up?
What part of yourself are you hiding or holding back on?

Slowing down and stepping away from the hustle culture narrative
How to slow down and step away from hustle culture narrative as an artist or creative entrepreneur. The Dear Creative Mind Podcast with host Pascale Cote, mindset coach for artists and creative minds.
Obviously, running a business requires work. There’s no getting around it. But hustle culture has us convinced that it’s a “one size fits all'' way of operating in that if you’re not always busy doing and achieving, you just don’t want it enough. Or worse, that there’s something wrong with you. How do you break that autopilot pattern you’re in to slow down to enjoy life as well as your business? How to Release Control and Find Balance Between Focus and Flow
How to release control and create more space to breathe in business as an artist. The Dear Creative Mind Podcast with host Pascale Cote, mindset coach for artists and creative minds.
In this episode, we explore the link between our desire for freedom and our need for control (hello perfectionism tendencies, I see you!). We identify as freedom seekers, yet a lot of us don’t really feel free on the daily. On the one hand, our attachment to this free-spirited identity can prevent us from creating the helpful structure we need to be able to focus our energy and find flow in our creative practice and business. On the other hand, some of us ironically struggle with letting go of our need to control every detail, may it be in our creative practice, the outcome of our work, and how it’s “supposed” to happen. Freedom and control cannot always coexist when we’re working towards a life, business and creative practice that flows. In this episode, we explore a few solutions to consider, including adding the right amount of (flexible and playful) structure, softening our grip on control, and learning to enjoy freedom (without shame or guilt).

Any entrepreneur looks up to certain leaders. We gravitate towards leadership yet, we all struggle in putting our finger on what it means to be a good leader. We tend to emulate rather than bringing our own flavour to leadership. While there are certain qualities that may be easier to identify, there is a skill that a lot of us tend to forget: being the kind of leader that is aligned with the kind of person we are. Showing up as a leader means showing up as who you are, not as someone else. Only by being yourself, can you truly lead.

As someone who loves planning ahead, I’ve learned how to make the best out of my planning efforts. Oddly enough, I’ve noticed that planning through goal setting isn’t 100% reliable. We often set out goals through the sum total of other people’s vision. So how do we know if the goals we set are really OUR goals and not someone else’s? I feel it’s always important to look our past year, gauge what has worked, what hasn’t and why and from that, create a vision on which goals will likely flow out organically. In this episode, I’ll walk through my own process in planning your next year.

We all struggle with being confident - be it in our personal lives or as entrepreneurs. Considering how much we strive to improve our confidence, is it possible we’ve been focusing on the wrong components to do so? What if it was more about "turning down" the lack of confidence rather than just focusing on actively trying to be more confident? Would you rather actually feel confidence rather than practicing a sense of confidence?
I would argue that real confidence is a byproduct of accumulating relevant experience. So rather than to wait for a fleeting moment of confidence to inhabit us, choose to move forward as you are and build long-lasting confidence based on real-life trial & error.

How I designed my business around my identity and internal rhythms
I designed my business around who I am. Find focus and flow in your creative business. Sustainable growth for conscious entrepreneurs. Mindset tips for spiritual and creative entrepreneurs. The Dear Creative Mind Podcast with host Pascale Cote, mindset coach for artists and creative minds.
Creating and launching a business from the ground up requires a lot from us. Thankfully there’s a wealth of knowledge available to us but in doing so, we tend to create a gap between how we run our business and who we are as the person running it. Rather than adapting the learnings and blending them with our personal reality, we create carbon copies of business templates that unfortunately contribute to draining our energy and confidence. There isn’t “one way” to do anything and once you accept yourself and account for who you are, that’s when you can create from a place of flow. We need to account for our values and identity because they 100% have a direct impact on every single choice we make in your business.
In this episode, I’ll take you behind the scenes at how I had to reshape the way I run my business based on my personality, values and identity. We’ll dive into how I create my schedule, my boundaries and how I create my content.
Journal prompts:
Do you find yourself facing a lot of resistance when it comes to creating or taking action?
Do you find yourself trying to find new routines or schedules on a regular basis because none of them seem to “stick”?

Honoring the Balance of Feminine and Masculine Energy in Business
How to find balance between feminine and masculine energy as a conscious entrepreneur. Find focus and flow in your creative business. Sustainable growth for conscious entrepreneurs. Mindset tips for spiritual and creative entrepreneurs. The Dear Creative Mind Podcast with host Pascale Cote, mindset coach for artists and creative minds.
Sell. Just another “four-letter word” for a lot of us. When people describe a bad selling experience we often hear about “pushy”, “impersonal”, “mechanical”. The problem is that bad selling is the norm when it should be the exception. Selling doesn’t have to be bad.
Even for us more heart-led entrepreneurs, we do need to sell to have our business create a positive impact. Good selling comes from a place of authenticity and connection. Good selling aspires to be magnetic and invites people in as opposed to pushing something down their throats. When you’re mindful and specific about your sales approach you will create a good sales experience for the people you’re looking to connect with and serve.
That comes from a place of a healthy balance of feminine and masculine energy. So what does that mean? Let’s talk about it in this episode.

How to Overcome Creative Blocks: Procrastination and Perfectionism

This week we’ll deal with one of the biggest ones: Perfectionism and Procrastination. We’ll talk about how one feeds into the other and how they both affect our self-worth and self-trust. I also want to speak to how they both contribute to a never-ending hamster wheel of never-enoughness.

How to follow the seasons and cycles of nature as an artist or creative entrepreneur. Find focus and flow in your creative business. Sustainable growth for conscious entrepreneurs. Nature-inspired artists. The Dear Creative Mind Podcast with host Pascale Cote, mindset coach for artists and creative minds.
Out of all the learnings over the years of being an entrepreneur, if I had a way to go back in time and give my younger self a tip it would be this: be patient. Entrepreneurship is a series of iterations and the best way to live that reality is to enjoy the beauty in the “draft version of your business”. It’s important to understand and accept that when we start a business, we’re in a constant state of “work-in-progress” which greatly conflicts with our expectations of having a finalized business from day 1. This week I talk about the risks and the impact it can have on our business to set the wrong intentions and expectations.

How to grow slowly, steadily, sustainably in business
How to grow steadily as an artist or creative entrepreneur. Find focus and flow in your creative business. Sustainable growth for conscious entrepreneurs. The Dear Creative Mind Podcast with host Pascale Cote, mindset coach for artists and creative minds.
Entrepreneurship often propagates the importance of hustling, of being busy or doing more. But more doesn’t always get you further ahead. If anything there are times where more sets you back. We’ve all been there: there’s so much to do and we always feel like we’re trailing so we do more and more to catch up. Compounded over time, our actions lack perspective and intention and the result: we’re drained. The same kind of drained that made us quit our 9 to 5 to begin with. So what’s the solution? Doing less. It’s as counterintuitive as it gets, but it’s the truth.

The Art of Creative Living
The art of creative living. Find focus and flow in your creative business. The Dear Creative Mind Podcast with host Pascale Cote, mindset coach for artists and creative minds.
In this first episode of season 3, which will be dedicated to creativity as a whole, I started thinking about what creativity means to me, what it helps me with and what it creates when it’s not in my life. Obviously, creativity can mean many different things to many different people and it made me realize how important it is to define what creativity means to you, especially if you’re a creative person. One thing I realized is that whenever creativity was missing from my life, it happened to be some of the most difficult moments for me. Conversely, creativity happened to be at the center of me getting out of these difficult moments.
So how can we live our lives creatively? How can we transform ourselves into channels from which creativity can express itself?
